Med-Surg Nurse Life Magazine Appoints Justin Fontenot Editor-In-Chief

SEWELL, NEW JERSEY – Justin Fontenot, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, is the new Editor-In-Chief of AMSN’s Med-Surg Nurse Life Magazine, effective with the publication’s January issue.

MED-SURG Nurse Life Magazine (formerly known as Med-Surg Matters) is not a clinical digest/publication, rather a lifestyle magazine with editorial, interviews, first-person stories, product reviews, events, fun snippets, entertaining lists and more for today’s med-surg nurses to enjoy in their leisure time. Additionally, the publication is known for sharing human interest stories, trends that make nurses lives easier, interviews and unique profiles on nurses making a difference, stories of inspiration, and articles featuring emerging leaders and innovators are part of its general editorial performance. AMSN members receive the magazine as part of their membership benefits package. In addition to receiving a printed copy to their mailing address, they have access to a digital edition and can view on any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

“I am very excited to serve Med-Surg Nurse Life Magazine in this new capacity,” Fontenot states. “The magazine has a long history of sharing nursing knowledge, experience and lifestyle, providing comfort, entertainment, inspiration and knowledge – many voices, many connections all elevated and supported by uplifting content that truly cares about the deeply rooted fabric that is the medical-surgical nurse community.”

Fontenot reports he looks forward to mentoring new writers and contributors to the publication, which, according to Fontenot, will help engage new readers and create an even more robust path to conversation for Med-Surg Nurse Life readers.

“I am energized and enthused to continue the fine editorial projects that have been a staple at Med-Surg Nurse Life Magazine for some time,” Fontenot shares. “The publication will continue its high level of publishing excellence, as it delivers mindful and impactful editorial designed to enrich the lives of med-surg nurses everywhere.”
