CEO’s June Message for the AMSN Blog
In 2019, AMSN knew there was a better opportunity to partner with industry organizations to bring better value to our
members. We spent time evaluating the partner benefits we offered, interviewed all our existing sponsor partners,
and reimagined a sponsorship package that would help them achieve their goals. But here’s the exciting
thing…helping them achieve their goals also helped AMSN achieve our strategic goals.
One of our strategic goals is “The medical-surgical nurse will be a well-equipped, highly
respected professional with career satisfaction and a strong professional identity.”
Another AMSN goal is “The global healthcare community will look to AMSN as the thought leader on all aspects of
med-surg nursing practice through advocacy, education, certification, and scholarship.”

includes building competency and capability by educating nurses, providing them opportunities to demonstrate their
medical-surgical expertise and promote nurse well-being.
Another AMSN goal is “The global healthcare community will look to AMSN as the thought leader on all aspects of
med-surg nursing practice through advocacy, education, certification, and scholarship.” An objective to
achieve this goal is to promote medical-surgical nursing as a specialty and advocate for medical-surgical nurse
participation in relevant collaborations and initiatives.
Also relevant for our partnerships is AMSN’s goal to continue to grow and innovate and focus on value for
members. These goals are wholly aligned with our revised sponsorship program.
Our Premier Partners, Medtronic, Hillrom, Abbott and
Philips, are committed to medical-surgical nurses. They advocate for appropriate staffing and the necessary
resources and equipment to allow medical-surgical nurses to grow and excel professionally.
They are completely dedicated to the expertise of medical-surgical nurses and want to bring education, programs,
services, and products that improve your ability to excel at work. I have been continuously impressed with their
legitimate support of medical-surgical nurses and their interest in hearing directly from members what the
challenges impacting your work and your ability to be your professional best at work.
