CEO’s August Message for the AMSN Blog
It’s almost here! AMSN’s annual
convention is just around the corner, and we’re hard at work putting the final touches on the first
in-person convention since 2019. It’s been a rough couple of years, and that’s why we’re doing our
very best to ensure the best possible experience in San Antonio.
We will have morning yoga where you can start the day with some well-deserved self-care. We have outstanding
educational session on topics that are relevant and important to attendees. We are holding a blood drive on Saturday
because we wanted to give back to the community and do our part to ensure blood is available for those in need. We
have some amazing evening activities on the schedule too! Our exhibit hall opening reception will take place
Thursday evening, where you can meet fellow attendees and exhibitors.
Also, please join us Friday evening for the presentation of AMSN awards. We wanted to really celebrate our awards
winners and felt that coming together to recognize the achievement of your colleagues and peers would be a great way
to do that. Lastly, on Saturday evening we have a fun party planned with a magician and a DJ so you can dance the
night away!
We have a free pre-convention workshop for in-person attendees. Sign up to attend “How to Integrate and
Leverage Professional Identity in Nursing into your Practice” and learn more about professional
identity and how it can help us all navigate and amplify our careers. Did I mention it is free? You can
take advantage of this session for no cost at all!
If you haven’t been to an AMSN convention, it’s a fantastic opportunity to rediscover your
spark…your why. Year over year, attendees tell us that convention reinvigorates them, and they go back to
work rested, excited and eager to share what they learned. That’s what convention is all about: learning,
connecting, community. If you have been to convention before, I know you know what I am talking about, and I hope
you will encourage friends and colleagues to join you.
Shortly, we are going to be asking attendees to build out their convention schedule, so we know how many of you are
planning to attend which sessions. You can win some great prizes for doing so, and it will help us ensure we have
the room to accommodate everyone in the sessions they would like to attend. Stay tuned for more information and start reviewing the convention
schedule so you know what sessions you want to attend.
